Why do Charles Windsor and David Cameron go to the artic for a blast on snowmobiles {great fun for them and their hangers on, free too !!} or to the Galapagos yet tell us that only the rich, famous or important people {like wot they are} should be able to do the same?

I would like to do both trips myself. I would like it even more if it was ‘in works time’ , free and indeed, as it is on works time, I got paid {plus ‘overtime} for going too, plus expenses, plus ‘spending money’ etc etc etc .

Double standards or what?

Why can’t Charles & Cameron stay in London and say this?

See below for Charles’s latest Jolly. He’s even taken the Mrs.

‘Junkets R Us’ or what ?

Prince Charles was to head Monday to the Galapagos Islands on the final leg of a 10-day South American tour highlighting his commitment to battling climate change. Skip related content

Have your say: Royal Family

The prince, accompanied by his wife Camilla, arrived in the Ecuadoran capital Quito on Sunday ahead of their flight to the archipelago, a pristine nature reserve which inspired Charles Darwin in his theory of evolution.

Unlike on his previous stops, in Chile and Brazil, the heir to the throne was not greeted by Ecuador’s President Rafael Correa.

Instead, Vice President Lenin Moreno and Foreign Minister Fander Falconi did the honors.

Ecuador’s government used the prince’s presence to reiterate its ambition of receiving millions of dollars in foreign “compensation” for not exploiting oil reserves located in a national park.

“Prince Charles was content with the Ecuadoran initiative that promotes a form of environmental conservation, and expressed his hopes that the project become reality,” Moreno said.

Charles and Camilla were to be accompanied to the Galapagos by Ecuador’s environment minister, Marcela Aguinaga.
And why are Prince Charles pockets sooooooooooooooooooooooooo deep?

He has no more earned his ££££££££ Millions than Bernire Madoff or ‘Sir Fred’ of the RBS !!

And, as I say, he could make the point without leaving blighty, ditto Cameron.

Perhaps u should have spent more time reporting double standards ?

I find it all q funny mind !!

Both guys are right of course !!!!!!!!!!!

but its the

‘do as I say and not as I do’

aspect that is soooooooooooooo

v v v v v v v v v v v v v very wrong !

My wife and I are looking to buy a boat. We’re both teachers and have the summers off (not to mention a full week in fall, 2 weeks in winter, and another week in the spring). We’ve been looking for a cruiser in the 27′ to 30′ range. The bigger the boat the better, but we’re also wary that a larger boat may be much more expensive to operate. We’re also leaning towards twin engines, though we expect that they will use more gas. We’ve read that it’s not quite double the gas, but we do expect expenses (oil changes, etc.) to be more with twins. Does anyone have any experience with moving up in size who could give us some basic ideas on what we could expect gas usage to be at different lengths and engines? Most of our use will be cruising to a cove and anchoring, though we would like to take some week-long trips down the TN River every now and then. Will we save a lot of $ with a 27′ compared to a 30′? Will a twin serve us better (power, backup in case 1 engine fails, etc.). Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

CASUALTY LOSS (BUSINESS OR PERSONAL?) tax deductibility question

Assume an individual has a boat where he entertains clients.
(1) If the boat sinks and he qualifies for a Casualty Loss deduction under Sect 165, where is the authoritative literature that guides whether it is a business casualty loss or a personal casualty loss?
I have been searching the Code, common law, and publications.
The only thing I have found is under Publication 463, entertainment expenses that are subject to the 50% deduction.
(2)If the boat that the individual used to entertain clients was subject to the 50% limitation, would it also qualify the loss to be a business casualty loss?

(3) The boat sinks due to an “other casualty” and he is alone on the boat

Can anyone provide for me primary sources on how to view whether the boat can be a personal or business casualty loss? And if he obviously used the boat at times for personal and sometimes for business, where is the authoritative literature on this?

Thanks in advance!
